The CCSDS (Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems) developed data standards covering several areas like data creation, transmission, management, preservation and data supporting systems. These include protocols and network communication methods for space missions including Space Communications Protocol Specifications for deep space missions like Moon or Asteroids missions. The standards includes XML Telemetry and Telecommand Systems as well Achieve Systems.

The CCSDS has six technical fields:

  • System Engineering
  • Cross Support Services
  • Space Link Services
